PatchLink Scanner Integration™ extends the functionality of PatchLink Update™ to provide seamless integration with leading commercial vulnerability scanning products from eEye®, Harris®, Internet Security Systems®, McAfee®, Foundstone®, Nessus® and Qualys®. The integration of these scanners with PatchLink Update facilitates the use of the expansive PatchLink repository for remediation of both software defects and configuration vulnerabilities.

Scanners report vulnerabilities, but do not remediate them. Without a remediation solution in place, the level of security is no greater on the network than it was prior to scanning. Manual remediation of identified vulnerabilities reduces IT productivity and increases costs, and also allows for errors. PatchLink Scanner Integration seamlessly integrates external vulnerability scan data from leading vendors (Harris, Foundstone, Qualys, eEye, ISS, MBSA, and Nessus) into PatchLink Update for immediate analysis and remediation.

• 360° Threat Assessment - PatchLink Scanner Integration combines threat assessment data from PatchLink Update's internal agent with data from your external scanner solution into a single centralized repository.
• Accurate Vulnerability Matching - Externally scanned vulnerabilities are matched against PatchLink's market-leading threat repository using the industry-standard Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) identifiers. Uncommon vulnerabilities that were not previously included in the PatchLink Update database are added to your repository where they can be organized multiple ways (such as IAVA classifications) for thorough analysis.
• Rapid Remediation of Externally Scanned Vulnerabilities - PatchLink's Scanner Integration allows you to immediately remediate any externally scanned vulnerabilities with patches in the extensive PatchLink Update repository. With the PatchLink Developers Kit™, PatchLink Scanner Integration also supports the remediation of non-patch vulnerabilities identified by the external scanner.
